CAUSE

Rhyme Room is an artistic development community for the inspiration and empowerment of at-risk youth. We enable them to build character, confidence and creativity through the dynamism of music. Our organization is dedicated to enhancing the participants’ artistic abilities, career readiness and personal growth via workshop based classes.

Action

Our industry professionals introduce teens to the essentials of songwriting, beat making and artist development. While we make these sessions available to teens from all around, our target demographic is at-risk youth.

IMPACT

In Chicago, we are fighting to take our children off of the streets. Rhyme Room provides a safe and creative environment that aids artistic and professional development. If a teen loves to sing, rap, write or make beats, we have a place for them at the Rhyme Room. Ultimately, the program allows teens to foster positive relationships, gain influential mentors, develop their craft and prepare for life as an active member of the community.

Jasmine King

Meet Jasmine King! She is a singer-songwriter from Chicago's Southside and a Rhyme Room Alum. When she started the program she had never written a song before and barely sang in public. After spending 4 years in the program, she is now a Performing Artist with songs on Spotify, iTunes, and Apple Music. She now mentors incoming teens on finding their voice and embracing their story.
